ABOUT

SCHOOL CURRICULUM

BCGRI Academy is committed to transforming lives and creating a brighter future for children in Sierra Leone by addressing their academic, nutritional, and emotional needs in a holistic and culturally sensitive way.

Career Readiness and Life Skills

BCGRMI Academy prepares children for future success by equipping them with essential career readiness and life skills. Through mentorship, vocational training, and hands-on learning experiences, students gain practical knowledge in entrepreneurship, leadership, financial literacy, and goal setting. Our trauma-informed approach ensures that children develop confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset, empowering them to pursue meaningful careers and break cycles of poverty.

Education and Literacy

Our education and literacy program prioritizes foundational learning skills such as reading, writing, and numeracy. Through interactive and culturally relevant teaching methods, we create a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. The approach ensures that children feel safe, valued, and understood, promoting a love for learning while addressing educational gaps.

Learning Development Strategies

This program equips children with personalized learning strategies to foster resilience and adaptability. We emphasize hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and problem-solving skills. The focus is on creating a nurturing environment that caters to diverse learning styles, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed and develop confidence in their abilities.

Nutritional Food Program

Good nutrition is essential for academic success and emotional stability. Our nutritional food program provides balanced meals to combat food insecurity, ensuring children receive the nourishment they need to concentrate, grow, and thrive. With an understanding of how trauma and malnutrition impact learning, this program also includes education on healthy eating habits and sustainability, empowering families to support long-term well-being

Social and Emotional Wellbeing

Central to our curriculum is the cultivation of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and relationship-building skills. Through SEL activities, mindfulness exercises, and peer support groups, we help children process emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Our framework ensures that children feel supported, fostering a sense of belonging and trust while promoting mental and emotional wellness.
